Crème de Luzy is a colour lithograph created by Leonetto Cappiello in 1919 as an advertising poster for the Parisian cosmetics company Luzy.
The female figure with an eighteenth-century French court silhouette and powdered hair is shown from behind, caught mid-gesture as she applies cream to her face. The yellow and black skirt balloons into a graphic shape that anchors the lower half of the image, while the dense red field behind her behaves like a stage backdrop, making the golden lettering read instantly from a distance. The message is simple: luxury skincare, age-defying cream, and a Paris address for wholesale at the bottom line.
