Two friends, two summer pleasures. One smiles with a chocolate in hand, her cap and swimsuit matching in pastel pink and blue. The other stretches, hands behind her head, face lifted to the sun, her white suit suggested in sparing strokes. Leyendecker's dense brushwork and sharp highlights give the bodies an almost sculptural volume. Our design team brought the two figures together into one composition, printed on art paper or cotton canvas. The image brings a summer mood to a sunny bedroom or a holiday home.

He painted hundreds of covers for the era's biggest magazines, including a record 322 for the Saturday Evening Post, and created images that shaped the look of American popular culture. His style inspired the generation of illustrators that followed, among them a young Norman Rockwell.
