An Austrian painter, illustrator, and poster artist associated with the Viennese art scene at the turn of the 20th century. He was born in Galicia (now in Poland) and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna as well as in Paris, where he absorbed influences from naturalism and the decorative trends of the fin de siècle.
